There's fun to be had on the Grande Ronde River!
John getting ready for a January float - 2010
The Grande Ronde River is open for fishing from the first part of June through April 15.
June, July, and August find us catching small-mouth bass and rainbow trout.
In late September, our famous steelhead arrive and the fishing gets serious!
Steelhead mania heats up in October, with John on the river almost every day. Catching steelhead on dry flies is the main event.
November can remain strong until the river freezes.
December and January can be iffy due to ice and snow; however, the fish are here when the water is open. These conditions are perfect for the die-hards.
Around the first of February, the river opens up again and steelhead are pursued until April 15th.
