The river is coming into shape and starting to fish well. Flow down to 5k cfs had us out on a float from Boggan's to Schumaker last Thurs. Fair weather and a clear river allowed us to hook into some nice Smallmouth where we could find pockets slow enough to fish.
Seth, age 12, from Dalton Georgia was dedicated enough to land an 18" pre-spawn hen.
Rubber and lead, and streamer flies are the gear of choice right now. I did see some Salmon flies still about in good numbers so a stonefly nymph should also be productive.
The weather is getting warm and the fish are biting in a wonderful setting. What more could one wish for?
Come and let me share "My View of the River"!
